Brian and Helen’s dream home on Whitestone
Over 30 years ago Helen Hayward would look forward to staying in Mum and Dad’s caravan on the beautiful Whitestone Caravan Park situated close to High and Low Newton and mentioned in Alfred Wainwrights ‘Outlying Fells which she enjoyed so much that in years to come she and husband Brian purchased their very own holiday home on park.
Things have come round full circle when in summer 2018 they moved into the stunning swift Bordeaux sited on the exact plot that Helen enjoyed all those years ago with mum and dad. With a mixture of fruit trees, mainly damson, and larger deciduous varieties such as oak, cherry, sweet chestnut and ash are grown throughout the Park, and natural woodland surrounding on all sides.
There is a steep rough fell behind the Park with paths to explore and wildlife is abundant, with squirrels, foxes and Roe and Red deer all frequent visitors. Natural colours are on show around the Park almost year-round, starting with snowdrops, daffodils, bluebells, and damson and cherry blossom, then azaleas, buddleia and montbretia following on, finishing with the autumn colours to end the season.
The stylishly furnished Bordeaux with comfortable freestanding sofas, dining table and chairs provides exceptional luxury and the ‘Brazil’ soft furnishing scheme with its citrus and warm grey theme give a sunny holiday feel which perfectly complements the friendly relaxed atmosphere and woodland aspect of the park.
All the staff at Kendal Caravans wish Helen and Brian many happy years, making new memories at Whitestone.
